" Nothing in the world can take the place of PERSISTENCE.
TALENT will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
GENIUS will not: unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
EDUCATION will not: the world is full of educated derelicts.

After so many times of failing, he kept going. And now he is a former Olympic Gold Metal Winner and World Record Holder. He is such a great swimmer, as a great amazing person as well. He teaches us that goals can come true, you just have to have persistence, because persistence is the key to life.

"Together Everyone Achieves More."
-Anon
Reflection: We can all work together as a team and get the job done faster. For example: If you need help on your homework, you and your friends can meet up at the library and work together to solve it. Working together can make things so much easier, and you feel more confident about yourself. Try working as a team and you will achieve more.

"A definite worthy goal, combined with a positive mental attitude is the starting point of all worthwhile achievement."
-Napoleon Hill
Reflection: Napoleon is sure damn right. A positive mental attitude brings you to many opportunities in life. A a goal worth living for, sure does too. You must always have positive thinking. Negative thinking brings you down. You must follow your dreams and believe you will one day reach it. For example, Dean Smith never gave up on his dreams. He became very successful and respected by many. He always chose what was right, and he never thought negative. Always try to think that the best will happen, and you'll see it will.

"CTR connects you to happiness and success- CTW disconnects."
-Mr. Haymore
Reflection: Mr. Haymore is correct. CTR does connect you to happiness and success. Choosing the right is the correct thing to do. Choosing the right means being capable of using your logic correctly and understanding that choosing the wrong brings you down as a person. For example: You and your friends go out to a party. When you get thee they instantly start drinking. You are aware that you'll have to drive home after the party. Will you choose to drink? No. You choose to leave the party. You later found out, one of your friends who was drinking had and accident and you realize you chose the right by not drinking. That friend later stays paralyzed and can't move. You as well realize how happy you are that you won't have to stay in bed like your friend does. You also conserve your success because you are allowed to do a lot of things your friend can't. Choose the right, and everything will be okay.

"I think it's better to do right, even if we suffer in so doing, than to incur the reproach of our consciences."
-Robert E. Lee
Reflection: You should always choose the right because you will feel good inside. For example, if you really want something from a store and you have no money to buy it, you decide to steal it. You should go back to the store and return it, even if the consequences are bad. You should do that because later, you wouldn't have your conscience thinking so negatively.

"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me."
-Carol Burnett
Reflection: No one can possibly change your life in anyway. Only you can. You make the decisions, you receive either the good things or bad things that come with it. Now suppose you hung out with friends who did drugs. Lets say you ended your friendship with them that same afternoon they had just gotten the new merchandise. That same day, the police got the red handed and they were sent to jail. Now suppose you stayed along with them and as well decided to use the drugs. That same afternoon the police got you all and you all went to jail. Your decisions changed your life. You changed your life. By deciding to hang out with them, you put your freedom in danger. You changed your life with that decision and you changed your right to have freedom and go wherever you want. You changed your life. No one else is to blame.
^ Just an example.

"There is no pillow so soft then a clear conscience."
-French Proverb
Reflection: This quote means that if you have a clear conscience, you'll be alright. For example, your head rested on a soft pillow makes you head feel relaxed, therefore, you're alright. There is no need for you to lay your head on a hard pillow, when you can have a soft pillow anytime, to meet your needs. It may not be easy to have a clear conscience if you choose the wrong, but when you choose the right you'll realize it's pretty simple to have a clear conscience. No one would like to have hard pillow to sleep on, so why choose the wrong and let your conscience keep reminding you, that for your bad actions, something wrong has occurred. Always choose the right, and you'll rest on a clear conscience.

"You have only always to do what is right. It will become easier by practice, and you enjoy in the midst of your trials the pleasure of an approving conscience."
Reflection: Do the right. It is a life mission to do the right. It is your duty as a human being to do the right. It is mandatory to do the right. You must learn that doing the right brings you to success. You must learn that doing the wrong is bad,and shall not be done. For example, if you become addictive to alcohol, you're doing wrong. If it was EASY for you to become addicted to it, then it shall be EASIER to become addicted to doing the right. You'll be an inspiration to many because of your good actions. And you'll be pleased with yourself(;

"If it's not right, do not do it; if it's not true, do not say it."
-Marcus Aurelius
Reflection: What this man is saying, is the truth. If something's not right, simply just don't do it. If something's not true, don't go blabbering about some dumb rumors you don't even know where they came from. They could have came from a dishonest person and you make that person feel powerful by spreading what they said into someone's mouth. For example, let's say someone spreads a rumor about someone else saying that person has been around. You don't know if it's true. All you know is that person is an straight A student who reaches for what she wants. Maybe the rumor inventor is jealous of that person. Don't spread anything around if you don't have proof of what's been spread. Get your facts straight first.
The Honest Four
The four college students from Patterson University, in New Jersey are the most honest people I have heard about. They went into the store thinking it was open, saw no clerk, but still went to pick up the items they wanted, and left the money on the cashier's desk? That talks good about them. And they even left change for the tax. They chose the right. They knew how to value the owner and themselves by not stealing anything. Stealing the things was simple, they just had to take the stuff & leave, but no. They did what was right and payed what they took. That is a-ma-zing.
