Student Success Statement #51

"Persistence can change failure into extraordinary achievement."
                                                      - Matt Biondi, Olympic Gold Metal Winner and World Record Holder

Reflection: Matt Biondi sure is an outstanding person. He shows persistence and dedication. His message to the world is that everything is possible. He never gave up. After so many times of failing, he kept going. And now he is a former Olympic Gold Metal Winner and World Record Holder. He is such a great swimmer, as a great amazing person as well. He teaches us that goals can come true, you just have to have persistence, because persistence is the key to life.

John F. Kennedy video

In the video, the president talked about wanting students, adults, everyone basically, to be healthy for a better America. He believes that you should be healthy because it is not really okay to be overweight, even obese.

I promise to eat healthy, such as vegetables and fruit. I also promise to exercise daily, and drink lots of water. I, as well, promise get on a nutritious diet so I can start losing weight to start weighing my recommended weight.

ps: I know the rainbow picture has nothing to do with this, but I like rainbows ohkay.

pps: I know that this info about the video that we watched about JFK is short but I wasn't paying much attention. I'm sleepy and plus it's Valentine's day. Blah.

Student Success Statement #48

"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong."
                                                                                              - President John F. Kennedy

Student Success Statement #6

                                                     Student Success Statement #6

"I have three messages:
     (1) We should never, ever give up.
     (2) You are never too old to chase your dreams.
     (3) It looks like a solitary sport, but it takes a team."
                                                                  -Diana Nyad, American Swimmer

Reflection: This woman is magnificent, first of all. To swim for 53 hours from Cuba, all the way to Florida is truly amazing. Her messages show us that dreams/goals can be accomplished. She's teaching us that a team with people who choose the right can bring you to success. She's shouting out that we should not give up, no matter how hard something is, or if people doubt you'll accomplish it. She's informing us that success is simple; you just gotta keep trying till you accomplish your goal. Just try again if something goes wrong. Choose the right, and you will achieve greatness.

My Summer

                                                      My Summer

My summer this year was okay. I mostly spent my days at home. Other days, I went and stayed over at my Godmother’s home. This summer was really hot, so I took a shower every day.

My summer schedule went like this:

1.       Wake up and eat a banana + drink some orange juice

2.      Brush my teeth and tie up my hair

3.     I put on my tank top and some shorts + my running shoes. Then I fed my turtles, and watered my mom’s plants.

4.    I went running at the park by my house for about an hour, starting at exactly 6:45 a.m.

5.     I got home back from running and I got in the shower

6.     When dressed, I either started reading, or I started with my chores

7.     When done with either of those, I thought of things I could do for the day, or I went to the store to buy groceries.

8.     When I got home from the store/market, I ate some lunch & then again, fed my turtles.

9.     At about 4:00 p.m., I started washing the dishes and then after that I relaxed/took a nap for some time

10.  By the time I woke up, it was like 4:35 p.m., and I gave myself some time on the phone.

11.    After using my phone for a while, I started watching T.V. around 7:00p.m.

12.   At 7:45 p.m., I ate dinner and once again, fed my turtles.

13.  By 9:00 p.m., I head on to go brush my teeth and by 10:00 p.m. I was in bed after a long day.

There were days where my schedule couldn’t be done exactly in order. Sometimes I didn’t run because I slept past my alarm, or I couldn’t have a nap because my chores weren’t done. One way or another, I tried following everything on my schedule.
